The first version accepts common outline geometry only. Unsupported SVG features stop conversion with a specific explanation instead of producing a DXF that merely looks plausible.

Which SVG units are accepted?
The root width and height must use mm, cm, in or px and the SVG must include a viewBox. Pixels are interpreted at 96 DPI. Percentages, em units and missing dimensions are rejected rather than guessed.
What happens to curves?
Cubic and quadratic curves plus SVG arcs are flattened into line segments. The tolerance is the maximum permitted deviation in millimeters; a smaller value can create more DXF points.
What happens to thick strokes?
A stroke exports along its centerline, regardless of its visual thickness. Convert the stroke to a path in your drawing tool first when you need its outer edges.
Can I send the DXF straight to a laser or CNC machine?
No. The output contains 2D outline geometry only. It has no kerf compensation, nesting, toolpaths, machining order, feeds or speeds. Verify dimensions and contours in your own CAD or CAM application.
Does this work with every CAD application?
The file uses DXF R2010 2D LWPOLYLINE entities in millimeters. Compatibility still depends on the receiving application and version, so inspect every result before fabrication.
